This year's conference is a celebration of our 100th Anniversary, and building on the NMOTA commitment to build a network of occupational therapy connection, people power, and outreach from border to border. WE are your PEOPLE!

Our honored guest speaker will be Dr Patricia Crist, a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association. She has received that state association’s highest professional leadership awards from Colorado and Pennsylvania along with many service awards from the American Occupational Therapy Association.

Please consider presenting at conference, celebrating our centennial, and planning the future of occupational therapy in New Mexico!

Some important things to think about:

NMOTA represents Your Profession in the State of New Mexico. Offering opportunities to accumulate educational credits toward licence renewal is not our only purpose. As a membership based organization, engaging both members and students in the legislative process, and affecting positive change across the spectrum of diverse opinions and biases within the bodies that regulate our practice, are two of the most important reasons that organizations like NMOTA exist.

Over the last three years annual memberships have increased by 150%, and conference attendence has significantly increased every single year since 2010, however, every year, we also drop nearly 50 students and more than 120 licensed practitioners from the membership roles. We've somehow been able to absorb those losses, and Still Grow Stronger, but we could be stronger still.

Between July 1st and the end of September, over 280 NMOTA members are up for renewal. Many of those joined during conference last last year and, because they do not attend in 2017, may forget to renew.

So we're putting out a call to all licensed New Mexico OT and OTA practitioners.

If you are one of the 1500 OT Practitioners and Students who will receive an Invitation to Attend the 2017 Conference, but cannot attend, or do not wish to participate next year, Become a Member Anyway, it's important.

If you attended Conference in 2016 and became a NMOTA Member, but are unable to attend in 2017, remember that your memberships expire in August and early September. We encourage you to renew and continue to add your voice to the effort to Promote and Protect the Profession of Occupational Therapy.
