2010 Annual NMOTA State Conference:

Dear Occupational Therapy Colleagues,

Another year and another opportunity to experience the Annual New Mexico Occupational Therapy Association Conference! So, I’m taking this opportunity to be presumptuous and ask you the following questions:

1)      What have you done this past year to develop, expand, and improve your practice of occupational therapy?

2)      What have you done to ensure that when you treat my mother in your clinic that you are utilizing best practices in her treatment plan?

3)      When your best friend’s daughter is receiving occupational therapy in school, are you positioned to offer her the very best that occupational therapy has to offer?

4)      What have you done to support and develop your professional associations versus asking, “What have NMOTA and AOTA done for me lately?”

5)      When was the last time that you were surrounded by 200+ OT practitioners and students who live and practice in New Mexico and enjoy collegiality and camaraderie?

Well, I’m so glad that you are reading this because I’m convinced that the 2010 NMOTA Conference will be the answer for all of these questions! We have made quite a coup in obtaining speakers who are exemplars of “Best Practice” in occupational therapy…..they are an amazing array of professionals who are dedicating their precious hours of living to support our profession and I am hopeful that you will thank them when you see them at conference.

The 2010 NMOTA Conference Committee has again made the commitment to keep registration fees at 2008 prices…WOW! (Other than the 2008 can of corn in my pantry, there is nothing in my house that has a 2008 price sticker….) The Marriott has kept their room rates to only $90 for a quad room so that savings continues with your lodging – they have been such a great partner in consciously working with NMOTA to keep this conference at such a value price.
